Has the time come for Syria?
It is hard to do better the day before a showdown in Syria than spending an hour with Joshua Landis and Ammar Abdulhamid of the Tharwa Foundation:
Landis has not been thinking the regime would crumble now. But these things are difficult to predict. Ammar is right that nonviolence is the way to go.

Landis did a great job pushing back on Ammar’s triumphalism. Revolutionary spokespeople are often in need of someone to ask “how about the day after” and, as in Ammar’s case, their response often leaves something to be desired (Don’t worry, Syria is exceptional…. huh?) More like this please.
